ABOUT US

AGD History

On May 30, 1904, Alpha Gamma Delta was founded and instrumented through a group of 11 strong women who chose to start the journey of sisterhood at Syracuse University.  With the first group of women who proudly called themselves Alpha Gamma Delta sisters was the gift of sisterhood that they would pass down from generation to generation.  Ever since the year of the founding that sisterhood has grown into a group of more than 145,000 women from all over North America.  Through the sorority these women can find true friendships, great connections, and a sense of belonging.

Our Mission

Alpha Gamma Delta is an international fraternity for women that exists to provide opportunities for personal development through the spirit of sisterhood.
•    We support lifelong learning as a means to gain understanding and wisdom.
•    We promote the value of fraternal membership and commitment to higher education.
•    We help prepare members to contribute to the world’s work.
•    We advocate lifetime involvement in Alpha Gamma Delta.

Philanthropy

We are huge supporters of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). Throughout the school year we show our support by donating money, helping with registration for the JDRF walk, and volunteering our sisters whenever needed.

Aside from JDRF we do other philanthropic events where we put on blood drives on campus, trick or treat for change on Halloween, host karaoke fundraisers, and give back to our alumni chapter by helping them set up their events.
